20 years ago DuPont Refinish created Five Star, a European network of bodyshops which all share the same high standards, to help bodyshop managers understand the market dynamics better, communicate and motivate their staff, budget and control their costs, while adhering to health, safety and environmental latest legislation. In addition to helping its members through all these potential problem areas, Five Star also gives them a stronger voice to negotiate with all work providers, including Fleet, Lease and Insurance companies (FLI). A short history lesson Five Star was first rolled out in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands in 1989. It has since been successfully developed in seven other countries (France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium). Today, the strong network has more than 1,000 member bodyshops which all meet uniform criteria and work according to demanding high standards: a productive, high-quality service and a strong work ethic. Five Star modules Five Star helps bodyshops in every area of their work, whether it is assisting with the business’ general organisation, providing solutions to better utilise space while increasing throughput, giving advice on health, safety, hygiene and the environment, or offering specifically tailored software to control the profitability of the business. Five Star members rely on a series of modules giving information and advice on every aspect of the business.
